Cheers to another successful red carpet event and a night of African excellence. The 10th anniversary of The Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) occurred on May 11, 2024. Needless to say, each year’s red carpet outdoes the last. A beautiful takeaway from this event is that the red carpet pieces are by us. The recent masterpieces handcrafted and beaded by African fashion houses are worth the recognition. Once again, Veekee James was my favorite designer of the night, but EmagineBybukola was a close second. The cultural night was the highlight of this event for me. There is so much beauty in our culture, especially when we derive from Kings and Queens. The significance of this evening was that while most of the guests were Nigerian, each celebrity showcased a unique interpretation of what their tribe has to offer.
