Quarantine In Style

“Read the room” is a trending phrase from Twitter that applies very well to the current climate … and the fashion world. If fashion has taught us anything, it is to dress for the occasion. It is okay to go to the grocery store in sweats, but for work put on a suit, and for church dress modest. However, we currently aren’t in the position to dress for any occasion during this COVID lock down. We’ve been cooped up for months and as the weather gets nicer, it’s time to venture outdoors safely. The only risk you need to take this summer is through fashion.

This is the time to stop being overly cautious and venture into your closet. During my excursion, I found this blazer I’ve had for years but couldn’t seem to style properly. I created a look with this blazer two years ago with a white button down, white pants, and baby blue pumps. Members of my church loved the look but I did not once I saw it on camera. This time around, instead of naturally dressing a blazer up as a suit, I took the casual approach. I styled it without a shirt, with ripped boyfriend jeans, and nude pumps, and I love it! The different styles in this look displays my two favorite styles: lax and masculine. Challenge yourself during this quarantine and you’d be amaze at the different sides of yourself you’d discover through fashion. Quarantine in style as a mode of self care and rediscovering yourself.
