A Black & White Affair: 2023 Met Gala Best Dressed

The first Monday of May will forever be a holiday in the fashion world. The 2023 Met Gala commenced May 1st with the theme ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’. For weeks, people have wondered how guests will interpret the theme at the Costume Institute’s annual gala. The late Karl Lagerfeld’s work with the biggest fashion houses is what makes him one of the most prominent fashion designers of all time. His career spans decades of material for guests to work with.

This year’s gala drew in big and new-name celebrities from all over the world. The night was filled with Thom Browne’s wonderful interpretation of Karl’s work and pure radiance from Cartier gems. Every guest paid tribute to the evolution of Karl’s work by showcasing his legacy redefining tweed, leather, pearls, and the camellia.
